Design Associate (Interiors)

Mayker Interiors is looking for a Design Associate to lead home staging design and styling for our interiors branch. We're in the market for someone with a killer eye and natural design instinct with project management skills to match. The ideal candidate is a creative problem solver with experience being hands on and has worked in all aspects of the design phase, from initial brainstorming to implementation.

About the Job

As a Design Associate, you will be a key member of the interiors team. Responsibilities include but aren’t limited to:

  • Evaluating new properties to stage — quickly determining a design concept for the home utilizing Mayker’s furniture and styling inventory

  • Translating that design concept to a detailed and actionable plan

  • Collaborating with the delivery and interiors team to select and pack inventory and details — reviewing load list with warehouse manager to ensure each home is well-prepared

  • Supervising delivery and placement of inventory in the home, as well as put finishing touches on the space — including but not limited to styling the rooms, making beds, and accessorizing thoughtfully with plants, art, and details

  • Submitting a Design Debrief for each job, identifying issues with install/inventory or needs for move outs

  • Establishing flexibility and proficiency in multiple styles and aesthetics

  • Consistently delivering top level design appropriate for the home and budget

  • Maintaining clear lines of communication with the sales team to ensure client expectations are continually exceeded

About You

  • The right cultural fit—you’re authentically personable and engaging. You’re determined, articulate and diplomatic with a consistent “bright” outlook

  • Has a visual eye that fits naturally with the Mayker aesthetic

  • Is fully confident in styling capabilities and comfortable approaching a fresh space to create an inspired environment

  • Willing to work in multiple locations — shifting often between the warehouse, the studio, and staged homes

  • Excellent with time management; you thrive on working autonomously

  • Has fine-tuned and thoughtful communication skills (telephone, written and face-to-face).

  • Comfortable navigating between left-brained and right-brained tasks (design <--> organization)

  • Hard-working, flexible, and always keen to exceed expectations

  • Possesses the ability to multi-task and manage own time effectively

  • Not above doing the little things

  • Ability and willingness to arrive early and stay late. This isn’t a traditional, 9 to 5, clock-in,

clock out job. You’re here because you have a passion for the Mayker brand and you want

to be an integral part of helping it thrive.
